Dana Scully is a fictional character portrayed by Gillian Anderson in the science fiction television series The X-Files, which aired from 1993 to 2002 and was revived in 2016 and 2018. She also appears in the films The X-Files (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008).

Scully is an FBI special agent and medical doctor, specifically a forensic pathologist. Initially assigned to work with Agent Fox Mulder on the X-Files, a unit investigating unsolved cases with paranormal or supernatural elements, she is primarily a skeptic. Her role is to provide scientific explanations and debunk Mulder's often outlandish theories.
