Biography:
Deadman, created by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino, first appeared in Strange Adventures #205 (October 1967). He is the ghostly alter ego of Boston Brand, a circus trapeze artist murdered mid-performance by a sniper known only as Hook.
The Hindu goddess Rama Kushna granted Brand the power to possess the living, allowing him to seek his killer and avenge his death. As Deadman, he retains his distinctive Deadman costume, now a spectral white. This ability to possess others offers him a means to investigate clues and manipulate events, though he cannot directly harm anyone.
Bound to Earth until his killer is found, Deadman travels the world, using his powers to help the innocent and occasionally interact with other DC heroes. His spectral form grants him intangibility and invisibility to most.
