Boston Brand, a circus acrobat known as Deadman, is a character from DC Comics. He made his first appearance in Strange Adventures #205 (October 1967).
Brand was murdered during a trapeze performance by a sniper. However, he was granted the power to possess any living being by a Hindu goddess named Rama Kushna. This allows him to solve his own murder and fight injustice.
As Deadman, Brand retains his spectral form and distinctive "D" symbol. He cannot be seen or heard unless he wills it, or when possessing someone. He is compelled to right wrongs as a condition of his existence.
