Quasar is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in Marvel Comics. The most well-known Quasar is Wendell Vaughn. He is a S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy graduate who lacked the killer instinct typically required for field work.

Vaughn was assigned to security at a research project attempting to utilize the Quantum Bands, powerful alien artifacts. When the base was attacked by A.I.M., Vaughn donned the Bands to defend it, discovering he possessed a natural affinity for their use. This granted him superhuman strength, flight, and the ability to manipulate energy.

As Quasar, Vaughn initially served as a protector of the S.H.I.E.L.D. research facility. He then became a freelance superhero, eventually working with the Avengers and other teams. He has also explored the vastness of space, acting as a protector of the universe and delving into the Bands' mysteries. Often operating with a quiet, contemplative demeanor, he balances the immense power of the Quantum Bands with a thoughtful approach to conflict.
