Starfire, also known as Princess Koriand'r, is a DC Comics superheroine most famously associated with the Teen Titans. She first appeared in *DC Comics Presents* #26 (October 1980) and was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
Originally from the planet Tamaran, Starfire fled to Earth to escape a forced marriage and a war with her evil sister, Blackfire. Possessing the ability to absorb and project energy, as well as superhuman strength and flight, she joined the Teen Titans and became a core member of the team.
Starfire's portrayal often emphasizes her warm, empathetic nature and her journey to understand Earth customs. Her relationships with her teammates, especially her romantic involvement with Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing), are significant aspects of her character.
