Biography:
Barrel is a character from Tim Burton's animated musical fantasy film, The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). He is one of the three mischievous trick-or-treaters, alongside Lock and Shock, who serve as Oogie Boogie's henchmen.
Barrel, like his cohorts, resides in Halloween Town. He is easily identified by his round, pumpkin-shaped head and perpetually grinning face. While Lock is often considered the leader and Shock the brains of the operation, Barrel is characterized by his child-like innocence and tendency towards clumsiness. He often laughs manically and seems to enjoy the chaos created by his actions.
In the film, Barrel, along with Lock and Shock, is tasked with kidnapping "Sandy Claws" (Santa Claus) and delivering him to Oogie Boogie. They are easily tricked by Jack Skellington into performing this task. Their loyalty lies primarily with Oogie Boogie, and their motivation seems rooted in a general love of causing trouble and playing pranks.
