Ken Masters, often simply known as Ken, is a prominent character in the Street Fighter franchise. He is Ryu's lifelong friend, training partner, and rival. First appearing in the original Street Fighter in 1987, Ken is depicted as a flamboyant and energetic martial artist.

Born into a wealthy American family, Ken was sent to Japan as a child to train under the same martial arts master, Gouken, as Ryu. This shared upbringing forged a deep bond between the two, even as their personalities and fighting styles diverged. Ken favors a more aggressive and showy approach to combat, contrasting with Ryu's stoic and disciplined style.

Throughout the series, Ken participates in various fighting tournaments, often seeking to test his skills and prove his strength. He marries Eliza, and has a son named Mel. He is known for his fiery Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku techniques, and his signature red gi.
