Scarlet Spider is a name used by multiple characters in Marvel Comics, most notably Ben Reilly. Ben Reilly is a clone of Peter Parker, created by the Jackal (Professor Miles Warren). Initially, Reilly believed himself to be the original Peter Parker, leading to a complex and often adversarial relationship.

Ben Reilly first appeared as the Scarlet Spider in Web of Spider-Man #118 (November 1994). As Scarlet Spider, he sported a distinctive costume consisting of a blue sleeveless hoodie, a red spandex suit, and a web-shooter belt.

After years of wandering, Reilly returned to New York City, initially working alongside Peter Parker. The pair faced many villains together. Tragically, Ben Reilly died saving Peter Parker from the Green Goblin, reverting to dust upon his demise, proving Peter Parker was, in fact, the original.
