Biography:
Scorpion is the alias of Mac Gargan, a character appearing in Marvel Comics. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #19 (December 1964).
Gargan was a private investigator hired by J. Jonah Jameson to find out how Peter Parker was obtaining his Spider-Man photos. Frustrated by his lack of progress, Jameson then funded an experiment to transform Gargan into a super-powered being capable of defeating Spider-Man.
The experiment, conducted by Dr. Farley Stillwell, involved bonding Gargan to a cybernetic scorpion suit, granting him enhanced strength, speed, and agility, as well as a powerful, prehensile tail. However, the process drove Gargan insane, turning him into the villainous Scorpion, consumed by hatred for both Spider-Man and J. Jonah Jameson.
As Scorpion, Gargan became a persistent adversary of Spider-Man, engaging in numerous battles. He has also been a member of various villainous teams, often driven by his unstable mental state and desire for revenge.
