Arwen Undómiel, daughter of Elrond and Celebrían, is an Elf of noble lineage in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Born in the Third Age, she is renowned for her extraordinary beauty and wisdom, mirroring that of her grandmother, Galadriel.
Arwen resided in Rivendell, sheltered from the darkening world outside its borders. She met Aragorn, a Man descended from the ancient kings, and they fell deeply in love.
