Yondu Udonta, portrayed by Michael Rooker, is a prominent character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically within the Guardians of the Galaxy films. He first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Udonta is a Centaurian, and leader of the Ravagers, a group of space pirates and mercenaries. He abducted Peter Quill from Earth as a child after his mother's death, originally intending to deliver him to Ego. However, Udonta ultimately decided to raise Quill himself, becoming a surrogate father figure to the boy, teaching him the ways of a Ravager.
Throughout his portrayal, Udonta is depicted as a complex character. While outwardly a ruthless and opportunistic space pirate, he possesses a hidden depth of compassion and loyalty, particularly towards Quill.
