Firestorm, as portrayed in The CW's "Arrowverse," is a superheroic entity formed by the fusion of two individuals into a single being. This version first appeared in "The Flash" TV series. The initial iteration saw physicist Dr. Martin Stein fused with athlete Ronnie Raymond following the particle accelerator explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.
Raymond provided the physical matrix and Stein, the consciousness and knowledge, resulting in a powerful hero capable of transmutation and energy projection. The Firestorm matrix requires two compatible individuals to function properly, creating a unique and often challenging dynamic.
Following Raymond's death, Jefferson "Jax" Jackson became Stein's new other half, inheriting Raymond's role as the physical matrix. This new Firestorm went on to become a core member of the time-traveling team in "Legends of Tomorrow". Stein's eventual sacrifice created a permanent separation, briefly stabilizing Jax's powers before their eventual loss, thus ending his tenure as Firestorm.
