R3-S1, often nicknamed "Goldie," was an R3-series astromech droid serving the Republic during the Clone Wars. He was assigned to Senator Padmé Amidala aboard her personal starship.
Unlike many astromech droids focused on repair and navigation, R3-S1 was primarily used as a spy. He was covertly tasked by Anakin Skywalker to monitor Padmé's activities and report back to him. This demonstrates Anakin's possessiveness and distrust, even towards his wife.
