Biography:

General Zod, portrayed by Michael Shannon, is a primary antagonist in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), specifically within the film *Man of Steel* (2013).

Born on Krypton, Zod was a military leader who believed in preserving Krypton's future, even if it meant radical measures. His attempt to overthrow Krypton's council led to his imprisonment in the Phantom Zone.

After Krypton's destruction, Zod and his followers escaped the Phantom Zone. Driven by a fanatical devotion to his people, he sought to terraform Earth into a new Krypton, leading to a devastating conflict with Superman.

Ultimately, Zod was defeated by Superman, who was forced to kill him to save humanity. His armored suit, a key part of his character design, provides enhanced strength and durability during his battles.
