Victor Von Doom, better known as Dr. Doom, is a brilliant scientist and sorcerer who first appeared in *Fantastic Four* #5 (July 1962).
Born in Latveria, Doom's genius was evident from a young age. He possessed a great interest in both science and the mystic arts. He used these skills to become an autocratic ruler.
An experiment gone wrong resulted in his face being severely scarred. Blaming Reed Richards for the accident, Doom forever dons a suit of armor and a metal mask to conceal his disfigurement.
Driven by his ego and desire for power, Dr. Doom is a constant threat. Doom believes himself to be humanity's rightful ruler. He repeatedly schemes to conquer the world and prove his superiority.
