Biography:

Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty, is a central character in Disney's animated film, *Sleeping Beauty*, released in 1959. As a baby, Princess Aurora is cursed by the evil fairy Maleficent, who decrees that she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel spindle and die before sunset on her sixteenth birthday.

To protect her, Aurora is raised in secrecy by three good fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, who rename her Briar Rose. On her sixteenth birthday, the curse comes to pass. However, Merryweather mitigates the curse, changing the death to a deep sleep that can only be broken by true love's kiss.

Aurora is awakened by Prince Phillip, who defeats Maleficent and breaks the spell. She then returns to her kingdom and fulfills her destiny as a princess.

She is part of the Disney Princesses franchise and has appeared in various related media, including animated shorts, television series, and merchandise.
