Parallax is a parasitic entity in the DC Universe, embodying fear itself. Not a character in the traditional sense, but rather a malevolent force that can possess and corrupt individuals.

Its first appearance was in Green Lantern (vol. 3) #46 (November 1993). While the entity existed for eons, it was revealed to be the cause of the Green Lantern Corps' weakness to the color yellow.

Parallax played a central role in the "Emerald Twilight" storyline, where it possessed Hal Jordan, driving him insane and leading to the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps. This transformation saw Jordan become the villainous Parallax, a powerful being capable of incredible destruction.
