TV
Serial:
TV-5071
Year:
2024
Theme:
The Lord of the Rings
Biography:
Azog was a powerful Orc chieftain of Moria during the Third Age. He is primarily known for his role in instigating the War of the Dwarves and Orcs, a brutal conflict that ravaged much of Middle-earth.

His most infamous act was the slaying of Thrór, King under the Mountain, in 2799 of the Third Age. He beheaded Thrór and carved his name into the dwarf's forehead, a deeply provocative act that ignited the dwarves' thirst for vengeance.

Azog commanded the Orc forces at the Battle of Azanulbizar, fought outside the East-gate of Moria. Despite the Orcs' initial advantage, the dwarves, fueled by their rage and led by Dáin Ironfoot, ultimately triumphed. Azog was slain by Dáin Ironfoot, ending his reign of terror.

While his death brought temporary respite, Azog's actions had far-reaching consequences, setting the stage for later conflicts, including the quest of Thorin Oakenshield and company to reclaim Erebor.
