The Grand Inquisitor, whose true name is unknown, served as the lead Inquisitor within the Galactic Empire. He was a Pau'an male who was once a Jedi Knight before falling to the dark side and becoming a servant of Darth Vader.

His primary role was to hunt down Jedi survivors of Order 66 and other Force-sensitive individuals who posed a threat to the Emperor's rule. He commanded the Inquisitorius, a group of Force-sensitive dark side users dedicated to eradicating the Jedi Order.

Known for his ruthlessness and skill in combat, the Grand Inquisitor wielded a unique double-bladed lightsaber capable of spinning for tactical advantage. He was a formidable opponent, adept at lightsaber combat and Force powers. He was eventually defeated by Kanan Jarrus, sacrificing himself rather than face Darth Vader's wrath.

Although deceased, the Grand Inquisitor's legacy lived on through the Inquisitorius and his methods of hunting Jedi. His training and tactics continued to influence the Empire's efforts to suppress the Force throughout the galaxy. He later reappeared as a Force Echo within a Jedi Temple where he again battled Jedi.
