Cell is a primary antagonist in the Dragon Ball Z series. He is an artificial lifeform created by Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army to exact revenge on Goku.

Cell's first appearance is in the "Android Saga" of Dragon Ball Z. He is created from cell samples of various powerful fighters, including Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, and King Cold, granting him their unique abilities and characteristics.

Cell goes through several forms, each more powerful than the last, as he absorbs Androids 17 and 18 to achieve his "Perfect Form". His ultimate goal is to test his strength by hosting a martial arts tournament known as the Cell Games, where he intends to battle the strongest warriors on Earth.
