Rocksteady, a prominent character in the 1987 animated series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is a mutated rhino and one of Shredder's primary henchmen. He begins his criminal career as a street thug affiliated with Shredder's Foot Clan. Initially human, Rocksteady, along with Bebop, volunteers to undergo mutation at Shredder's behest in an attempt to defeat the Turtles.

The transformation grants Rocksteady immense strength and durability, but at the cost of his intelligence. He retains his gruff demeanor and often displays a childish impulsiveness. While fiercely loyal to Shredder, Rocksteady is generally incompetent and frequently responsible for the Foot Clan's failures against the Turtles.

Alongside Bebop, Rocksteady serves as comic relief due to their bumbling nature. He is easily recognizable by his grey rhinoceros hide, military helmet, and machine gun, often using brute force over strategy in battle. Despite his shortcomings, Rocksteady remains a persistent antagonist throughout the series.
