Biography:
Kratos is the central character of the *God of War* video game franchise. He first appeared in *God of War* (2005) on PlayStation 2.
Born in Sparta, Kratos rose to become a highly respected general in the Spartan army. In a desperate moment during a battle with barbarians, he pledged his life to Ares, the God of War, in exchange for the power to defeat his enemies. Ares granted him immense power, but also tricked him into killing his own wife and daughter.
Haunted by this tragedy, Kratos renounced Ares and sought vengeance against the gods of Olympus. His quest led to a path of destruction and bloodshed, as he battled mythical creatures and deities, ultimately culminating in the downfall of Olympus.
Later entries show Kratos after having traveled to Midgard. He attempts to live a quiet life and raise his son, Atreus. Kratos is forced to confront his past and continue battling mythical creatures and gods as he protects his son.
