Biography:
Kratos is the protagonist of the *God of War* video game franchise. He first appeared in the initial *God of War* game in 2005.
Originally a Spartan warrior, Kratos rose through the ranks to become a general in the Spartan army. Desperate in battle, he pledged himself to Ares, the God of War, gaining immense power but becoming Ares's servant.
Tragically, Ares tricked Kratos into killing his own wife and daughter. This act led to him being cursed with the ashes of his family, giving him the title "Ghost of Sparta." Seeking vengeance, Kratos embarked on a quest to kill Ares and free himself from his servitude.
As the series progresses, Kratos battles gods and monsters from Greek mythology, ultimately ascending to godhood himself and then later traveling to Norse lands, where he confronts new challenges and responsibilities as a father.
