General Zod is a Kryptonian military leader portrayed in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). He first appeared in the movie *Man of Steel* (2013), played by Michael Shannon.

Zod seeks to terraform Earth into a new Krypton, even if it means destroying humanity. He is a ruthless and formidable opponent for Superman, possessing similar powers and fighting abilities due to Kryptonian physiology under a yellow sun.

In *Man of Steel*, Zod wears Kryptonian armor. While he seemingly dies at the end of that film, his return in *The Flash* (movie) (2023) showcases him once again in his armored form, continuing his mission to rebuild Krypton.
