Ryomen Sukuna is a major antagonist in the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. Revered as the undisputed King of Curses, Sukuna was a powerful cursed spirit in ancient times, known for his immense strength and malevolence.
His body was ultimately destroyed, but his power was too great to be completely eliminated. His twenty fingers, mummified into cursed objects, were scattered throughout Japan in an attempt to weaken him and prevent his resurrection.
Sukuna's first animated appearance is in the first episode of the series, "Ryomen Sukuna," where Yuji Itadori consumes one of his fingers to protect his friends from other curses. This act allows Sukuna to manifest within Yuji's body, leading to a constant battle for control and driving the narrative of the anime. While sharing a body with Yuji, Sukuna seeks to regain his full power and unleash chaos upon the world.
