Jake Sully (portrayed by Sam Worthington) is the protagonist of the 2009 film Avatar.
Originally a paraplegic former Marine, Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar Program, which allows humans to remotely control genetically engineered Na'vi bodies. His mission is to infiltrate the Na'vi people of Pandora and persuade them to relocate from a resource-rich area desired by the Resources Development Administration (RDA).
Over time, Jake grows to respect and embrace the Na'vi culture. He falls in love with Neytiri and becomes deeply connected to Pandora's ecosystem through the neural network known as Eywa. Ultimately, he sides with the Na'vi in their fight against the RDA.
Jake Sully earns the title of Toruk Makto, becoming a legendary figure among the Na'vi. By the end of the film, he permanently transfers his consciousness into his Na'vi avatar, fully embracing his new life and role as a leader and protector of Pandora.
