Biography:
Jake Sully, portrayed by Sam Worthington, is the protagonist of James Cameron's film *Avatar* and its sequels. He is a paraplegic former Marine who is recruited to the Avatar Program on the lush, habitable moon Pandora.
Originally tasked with infiltrating the Na'vi, a native humanoid race, to aid in resource extraction efforts by the Resources Development Administration (RDA), Jake's consciousness is linked to an avatar body grown to resemble the Na'vi.
Through his experiences exploring Pandora and interacting with the Omaticaya clan, Jake begins to empathize with the Na'vi and falls in love with Neytiri, a skilled hunter and daughter of the clan's leader. He ultimately defects from the RDA.
Jake embraces the Na'vi way of life, becoming a warrior and eventually leading the resistance against the RDA's destructive ambitions. He permanently transfers his consciousness into his avatar body, becoming fully Na'vi and securing his place as a leader and protector of Pandora.
