Harvey Elder, better known as the Mole Man, is a Marvel Comics character primarily associated with the Fantastic Four. A brilliant but antisocial explorer, Elder stumbled upon a vast network of tunnels deep beneath the Earth's surface.

Driven by his rejection from mainstream society due to his unusual appearance and behavior, Elder embraced this subterranean world. He discovered a radioactive substance that granted him near-immortality and enhanced his eyesight in the dark. Over time, he became the ruler of a bizarre ecosystem.

Inhabiting this underground realm, Mole Man commands a legion of grotesque and loyal Moloids and other strange creatures. He frequently clashes with surface dwellers, especially the Fantastic Four, whom he considers intruders upon his domain. His motivations generally stem from a desire to protect his underground world from those on the surface.
