Eleven, also known as El, is a fictional character from the Netflix science fiction horror series, Stranger Things. She is portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown.

Eleven was born Jane Ives to Terry Ives and an unnamed father. She was taken at birth and raised in Hawkins National Laboratory, where she was subjected to experiments designed to exploit her psychokinetic abilities, including telekinesis, telepathy, and limited precognition. These experiments, overseen by Dr. Martin Brenner, aimed to weaponize her powers.

In 1983, Eleven escaped the lab and befriended Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair. She used her powers to help them search for their missing friend, Will Byers, and protect them from the Demogorgon, a monster from the alternate dimension known as the Upside Down.

Throughout the series, Eleven struggles to understand and control her powers, while also grappling with her traumatic past and the ethical implications of her abilities. She forms strong bonds with her friends and eventually develops a romantic relationship with Mike. Eleven also searches for a normal life and a place to call home.
