Black Bolt, also known as Blackagar Boltagon, is the king of the Inhumans, a race of genetically altered humans. His primary power is a devastatingly powerful voice. Even a whisper can level mountains, making him a nearly silent character.

Exposed to the mutagenic Terrigen Mist while still an infant, his powers manifested early and uncontrollably. He was placed in a soundproof chamber to learn to control his abilities. He eventually emerged as a formidable leader, responsible for the safety and well-being of his people residing in Attilan.

Black Bolt's leadership has often involved difficult decisions and isolation from the outside world. He often allies with other heroes to combat threats against Earth and the Inhumans. His existence is defined by the constant threat his own voice poses, requiring unwavering control and vigilance.
