Kokushibo is a powerful antagonist from the manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Originally a human swordsman named Michikatsu Tsugikuni from the Sengoku Era, he was a member of the Demon Slayer Corps and Yoriichi Tsugikuni's older twin brother. Driven by jealousy and a desperate desire to surpass his younger brother, Yoriichi, and fear of death, Michikatsu chose to become a demon.
He is first introduced, though not by name, in Chapter 97 of the manga, during a flashback sequence. He later appears properly in Chapter 144. As a demon, he pledged his allegiance to Muzan Kibutsuji, becoming the strongest of the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank One. Kokushibo wields a katana that is made from his own flesh and blood and fights using Moon Breathing, a breathing style derived from Sun Breathing.
