Biography:
Kokushibo, also known as Upper Rank One, is a major antagonist in the anime and manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Born Michikatsu Tsugikuni in the Sengoku Era, he was a prodigious swordsman and the older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the creator of Sun Breathing. Driven by intense jealousy and a desire to surpass his brother, Michikatsu sought power and immortality.
He joined the Demon Slayer Corps but, fearing his impending death due to the Demon Slayer Mark's curse, he accepted Muzan Kibutsuji's offer to become a demon. This decision transformed him into Kokushibo, granting him immense power and an extended lifespan.
As Upper Rank One, he possesses unparalleled strength, speed, and regeneration abilities. He also utilizes Moon Breathing, a style derived from his observation of his brother's Sun Breathing, adapted to his own demonic physiology. His Blood Demon Art allows him to create crescent-shaped blades of energy.
Kokushibo is characterized by his six eyes and a stoic, ruthless demeanor. He embodies the destructive nature of envy and the corruption of talent by ambition.
