Born Atros on the planet Ryut, in Space Sector 666, he witnessed the brutal massacre of his people by the Manhunters. This horrific event filled him with immense rage, leading him down a path of vengeance.
Empowered by the red light of rage, Atrocitus wields a Red Lantern power ring. His ring differs from Green Lantern rings as it replaces his heart with a conduit of red energy.
