Hiruzen Sarutobi, also known as the Third Hokage, was the leader of Konohagakure (the Hidden Leaf Village) in the Naruto anime and manga series. He held this position for a considerable period, succeeding Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage.
Sarutobi was a prodigious ninja, trained by both the First and Second Hokage. He was revered for his mastery of all five nature transformations and was often called "The Professor" due to his vast knowledge of ninjutsu.
During his reign, Sarutobi faced numerous challenges, including the Second Shinobi World War and the Nine-Tailed Fox attack. He made difficult decisions to protect the village, sometimes at personal cost.
He eventually stepped down, replaced by Minato Namikaze (the Fourth Hokage), but resumed the position after Minato's death during the Nine-Tailed Fox attack. Sarutobi ultimately sacrificed himself to seal away Orochimaru's arms during the Konoha Crush, leaving a legacy of dedication to the village.
