Gilgamesh, also known as the Forgotten One, is a powerful Eternal within the Marvel Universe. He is a member of the fourth generation of Eternals, a race of genetically engineered beings created by the Celestials.

His immense strength and fighting prowess led him to be revered as a hero throughout history, inspiring many myths and legends. He is believed to have influenced the historical figure of Gilgamesh in ancient Sumeria, from which his chosen name derives.

Unlike many Eternals, Gilgamesh had a complex relationship with his people. He was often ostracized due to his aggressive nature and occasional disagreements with Zuras, the prime Eternal. This led him to periods of self-imposed exile and exploration of Earth.
