Springtrap, also known as William Afton, is a primary antagonist in the *Five Nights at Freddy's* (FNAF) horror game series. He is a decaying, humanoid animatronic rabbit.

His first appearance was in *Five Nights at Freddy's 3* (2015). Within the game's lore, Springtrap is the reanimated corpse of William Afton, a serial killer who murdered several children at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

Afton sought refuge from the spirits of his victims inside a Spring Bonnie animatronic suit. However, the suit's springlock mechanisms malfunctioned, crushing and killing him. His body remained trapped inside the suit for decades, leading to his decayed appearance.

In many iterations of the game, he is often associated with the animatronic Bonnie and sometimes carries a guitar. He consistently functions as a terrifying and relentless threat to the player.
