Orochimaru is a prominent antagonist in the anime series Naruto Shippuden. He first appears in the original Naruto series.
He is a former ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village and one of the legendary Sannin, alongside Jiraiya and Tsunade, under the tutelage of the Third Hokage.
Driven by a desire to achieve immortality and master all jutsu, Orochimaru deviates from accepted ninja practices. He performs unethical experiments on others, leading to his eventual banishment from the Hidden Leaf.
His primary goal is to learn every jutsu in the world so he can obtain immortality, and he goes to extreme lengths to achieve these objectives, often placing him in conflict with Naruto Uzumaki and the Hidden Leaf Village.
