Baron Mordo is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appears in the 2016 film, Doctor Strange, portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Originally a Master of the Mystic Arts and a staunch ally to the Ancient One, Mordo is a skilled sorcerer who aids Stephen Strange in learning the mystic arts at Kamar-Taj. He initially serves as a mentor and guide to Strange.
However, Mordo grows disillusioned with the Ancient One's use of power from the Dark Dimension and believes in strictly adhering to the natural laws of magic. This difference in ideology leads him to become an antagonist. He vows to rid the world of magic users, believing they are abusing their power and disrupting the natural order.
