Darth Caedus was the Sith identity assumed by Jacen Solo, the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, in the Star Wars Legends continuity. First appearing as Jacen Solo in the novel *Heir to the Empire* by Timothy Zahn, Caedus's transformation occurred gradually throughout the *New Jedi Order* book series and was cemented during the *Legacy of the Force* series.
Jacen was a powerful Jedi Knight who sought to bring lasting peace to the galaxy. However, his methods became increasingly ruthless and morally ambiguous as he delved deeper into the Force and the teachings of various Force traditions.
Ultimately, Jacen embraced the dark side, believing it was necessary to achieve his goals. As Darth Caedus, he became a tyrannical figure, leading the Galactic Alliance into a bloody civil war and engaging in actions that mirrored those of his grandfather, Darth Vader. His reign of terror was eventually brought to an end by his twin sister, Jaina Solo.
