Quentin Beck, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal, is Mysterio in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He is a disgruntled former Stark Industries employee who was involved in the development of the holographic technology used by Tony Stark.
Following his dismissal, Beck assembled a team of fellow disgruntled former Stark employees to create an elaborate illusion using advanced holographic projectors and drones. He manipulated events to appear as a hero from another dimension, battling "Elementals" in the film *Spider-Man: Far From Home*.
His goal was to usurp Spider-Man's position as the world's greatest hero and gain recognition for his supposed bravery. Mysterio's plan ultimately hinged on deceiving the world through sophisticated special effects and manipulating public perception. His first appearance was in *Spider-Man: Far From Home*.
