Mazinger Z is a super robot and the titular character of the manga and anime series of the same name, created by Go Nagai. He first appeared in *Weekly Shonen Jump* in 1972.
Piloted by Koji Kabuto, Mazinger Z is a powerful mecha constructed from Super-Alloy Z, a virtually indestructible metal developed by Koji's grandfather, Professor Juzo Kabuto. Professor Kabuto created Mazinger Z to combat the forces of Dr. Hell, an evil scientist seeking to conquer the world with his army of mechanical beasts.
Koji controls Mazinger Z from within its head, using a hovercraft called the Hover Pilder that docks into the robot. Mazinger Z possesses a variety of powerful weapons and abilities, including Rocket Punches, Breast Fire, and the devastating Rust Hurricane.
