Jafar is the main antagonist in Disney's 1992 animated film, Aladdin. He serves as the Royal Vizier to the Sultan of Agrabah, but secretly plots to overthrow him and rule the kingdom himself.

Cunning, manipulative, and power-hungry, Jafar possesses considerable knowledge of dark magic. He is often seen with his sarcastic and cynical pet parrot, Iago, who assists in his schemes.

Driven by an insatiable desire for ultimate power, Jafar seeks the magic lamp containing a powerful Genie. He believes that by controlling the Genie, he can become the most powerful being in the world. His pursuit of the lamp leads him into conflict with Aladdin, the protagonist.

Throughout the film, Jafar uses deception and trickery to advance his plans, ultimately succeeding in obtaining the lamp and becoming Sultan. However, his hubris and insatiable ambition lead to his downfall when Aladdin outsmarts him, trapping him inside his own lamp.
