Jafar is a fictional character appearing in Disney's animated film *Aladdin* (1992). He serves as the film's primary antagonist.

He is the Royal Vizier of Agrabah, secretly plotting to usurp the throne from the Sultan. Cunning and power-hungry, Jafar seeks the magic lamp hidden in the Cave of Wonders, believing it holds the key to ultimate power.

Often accompanied by his sarcastic parrot Iago, Jafar uses manipulation and dark magic in his relentless pursuit of the lamp and the throne. His ambition drives the plot, creating conflict for Aladdin and the other heroes.
