Freddy Freeman is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics, primarily associated with the Shazam! family. Created by Ed Herron and Mac Raboy, he debuted in Whiz Comics #25 in 1941.
As a teenager, Freddy was crippled by Captain Nazi, an enemy of Captain Marvel (Shazam). To save his life, Captain Marvel shared his powers with Freddy, transforming him into Captain Marvel Jr. Unlike Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr. retained some of his teenage personality and appearance even when transformed. He is often depicted with blond hair slicked back, wearing a blue version of Captain Marvel's costume.
Freddy's power source is tied to Captain Marvel; initially, he could only transform when Captain Marvel said his name.
