The Bombastic Bag-Man is an alternate version of Spider-Man from Marvel Comics. This comical persona emerged in The Amazing Spider-Man #258 (November 1984) when Spider-Man sought the Fantastic Four's help to remove the alien symbiote later known as Venom.
After removing the symbiote, Spider-Man was left without a costume. Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, provided him with a spare Fantastic Four uniform. Lacking a mask, Spider-Man fashioned one from a brown paper bag, adding eyeholes. To complete the look and prevent his identity from being revealed, he taped a "Kick Me" sign to his back, thus creating the Bombastic Bag-Man.
The Bag-Man persona is often revisited for humorous effect in Spider-Man stories, highlighting the character's resourcefulness and willingness to endure embarrassment in his crime-fighting efforts. While not a distinct character separate from Spider-Man, the Bombastic Bag-Man is a memorable and amusing variation on the iconic hero.
