Percival Graves first appears in the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He is initially presented as a high-ranking Auror within the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA).
However, the true identity of this character is revealed to be Gellert Grindelwald, a powerful and dangerous dark wizard. Grindelwald impersonates Graves using Polyjuice Potion.
His goal while disguised as Graves is to expose the American wizarding world to the No-Maj (American term for Muggles) and recruit Credence Barebone for his cause. He is eventually unmasked by Newt Scamander and subsequently captured.
