Amelia "Amy" Pond is a fictional companion of the Eleventh Doctor in the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. She is portrayed by actress Karen Gillan.
Amy first appears in the opening episode of series five, "The Eleventh Hour," as a young girl in Leadworth, Scotland. She is the first person the freshly regenerated Eleventh Doctor meets. He promises to return, but arrives twelve years later when Amy is a young woman.
Traveling with the Doctor, Amy experiences incredible adventures across time and space. Her relationship with the Doctor is complex, evolving from childlike adoration to deep friendship and eventually, familial connection. Key storylines involving Amy include her encounter with the Silence, her abduction, and the mystery surrounding her daughter, Melody Pond (River Song).
Amy is fiercely independent, brave, and quick-witted, but also impulsive and sometimes reckless. Her journey concludes in "The Angels Take Manhattan," where she chooses to remain in the past with her husband, Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), rather than live without him.
