Spartan, also known as the Galactic Commando, is a character primarily featured in the *Halo* video game franchise. These genetically enhanced supersoldiers are the core of the UNSC's military forces.
The first *Halo* game, *Halo: Combat Evolved* released in 2001, introduced players to Spartan-117, Master Chief, the most recognizable Spartan. Master Chief became a key figure in the Human-Covenant War, fighting against the alien Covenant.
