Cloak, whose real name is Tyrone Johnson, is a Marvel Comics character best known as one half of the superhero duo Cloak & Dagger. He possesses the power to create a portal to the Darkforce Dimension. This gives him the appearance of being shrouded in darkness, and he can teleport himself and others.
Tyrone and his partner Dagger gained their powers after being subjected to synthetic heroin experiments by a criminal chemist. Cloak's powers provide both a means of offense and a source of inner torment, as he must constantly feed on the "light" of others to satiate his hunger, which can be extremely distressing for him.
Cloak first appeared in *Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man* #64 (1982).
