Tyrone "Ty" Johnson is Cloak, one half of the superhero duo Cloak & Dagger. He debuted in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #64 (March 1982).
Tyrone, a young man from Boston, possessed a stammer and a fear of the dark when he and Tandy Bowen were targeted by Simon Marshall, a criminal chemist.
Marshall exposed them to a synthetic heroin, which activated their latent mutant abilities. Tyrone gained the power to generate a dimension of darkness and teleport through it. This darkness manifests as his signature cloak, which he uses to engulf enemies. He also developed a vampiric hunger for light, which Dagger provides.
