In J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium, Wargs are a malevolent species of wolf-like creatures.

They first appear in The Hobbit during the journey of Bilbo Baggins and the dwarves to the Lonely Mountain. The group encounters a pack of Wargs in the wild, finding refuge up in trees as the Wargs gather below.

These "Grey Wolves" are portrayed as intelligent and capable of communication. They are often in league with Orcs, acting as mounts and scouts, adding to the dangers faced by travelers in Middle-earth.
