Rex Mason, better known as Metamorpho, is a DC Comics superhero. He first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #57 (January 1965).
An adventurer and explorer, Mason was transformed into a living elemental after being exposed to an ancient Egyptian meteorite. This meteorite contained the Orb of Ra. This experience gave him the ability to transmute his body into any combination of elements found in the human body.
Metamorpho can shift between forms mimicking various substances such as iron or oxygen. A difficult hero to control, he often struggles with his condition. He was a member of Batman's team The Outsiders.
